Quality Improvement Plan

In June 2010, the Ontario Government passed the Excellent Care of All Act. This legislation fosters a culture of continuous quality improvement where the needs of patients come first. As a requirement of the Act, health care organziations, such as Stevenson Memorial Hospital, must develop a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) which highlights the organization's commitment to:

  • delivering high quality health care;
  • creating a positive patient experience;
  • ensuring that it is responsive and accountable to the public;
  • holding its executive team accountable for its achievement; and
  • being transparent.

Quality Improvment Plans provide a meaningful way for our organization to clearly articulate our accountability to our community, patients and our staff. The QIP will allow our organization to clearly see our targeted areas for improvement and rate our progress.

The QIP and the Part B spreadsheet include many terms that our community may not be familiar with.  In order to help our patients and community residents better understand the terms used in our plan, we have provided a glossary of terms. Please click here to view a Glossay of Terms.

Part A - Stevenson's Quality Improvement Plan

Part B - Improvement Targets and Initiatives

How to Read the Quality Improvement Plan:
Stevenson's QIP is posted as two parts:

  • Part A - A document that provides a brief overview of our QIP, highlighting our top priorities for the year.
  • Part B - A spreadsheet that includes our improvement targets and initiatives. The spreadsheet also inclues a core set of indicators that all similar hospital across the province must report on.
