Stevenson celebrates Doctors' Day

Stevenson Memorial Hospital is pleased to join the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) in recognizing Doctors' Day today, May 1.

Doctors’ Day was officially proclaimed by the Ontario government in 2011 to recognize and celebrate the province’s physicians, and to mark the birthday of Dr. Emily Stowe, Canada’s first female physician.

On this day, and throughout the first week of May, local patients and their families are encouraged to thank their doctors.  The OMA has established a website where patients can post messages for physicians. Visit www.ontariosdoctors.com for details.

“On this Doctors’ Day , I want to recognize our doctors for their continuous efforts to serve our community, care for our patients and help to lead Stevenson in an often challenging healthcare environment,” said Jody Levac, CEO at Stevenson Memorial Hospital.

“We recognize that the successes our goal of providing safe, quality care, would not be possible without the involvement, dedication, and support of our doctors.”
