Dr. Scheeres is also retiring from his role in Obstetrics at SMH.

“We thank Dr. Scheeres for his incredible contributions to patient care at SMH, as well as his leadership as Chief of Staff,” says Norm Depta, Chair, Board of Directors, SMH. “He has been instrumental in the growth of the Obstetrics program, as well as his supporting the hospital during a challenging time in health care, ensuring that physician wellness and education opportunities remained at the forefront,” he adds.

In the interim, SMH is pleased to announce that Dr. Barry Nathanson, Internist (and former Medical Director, Critical Care Services) Southlake Regional Health Centre has been appointed as Interim Chief of Staff at SMH effective August 1, 2023.
