On the move
Beginning May 1, Stevenson’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program will be held at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre, allowingparticipants to walk on a state-of-the-art track instead of the hospital hallways.
“This is a tremendous improvement for our patients,” said Lorraine Johnston, Nurse Practitioner and Manager, Out Patient Department. “We are very excited to participate in this tremendous partnership with the town.”
More than 100 patients complete the program annually, many are recovering from heart attacks and others who are at risk for cardiac issues. The collaboration will provide an enhanced level of service and offer educational workshops designed to encourage healthy lifestyle choices for all ages.
Workshops will be run by Stevenson staff and registration will be coordinated through the Parks, Recreation and Culture Guest Services teams in Tottenham and Alliston.
