OUTPATIENT CLINICS
Recent renovations resulted in a new outpatient area.

Outpatient clinics are comprehensive and include:

  • Audiology
  • Diabetic
  • Dermatology
  • Medical
  • Surgical
  • Nephrology
  • Nutrition
  • Obstetric
  • Orthopaedic
  • Otolaryngology
  • Paediatric
  • Prenatal and Postnatal
  • Stress testing

The clinics are very busy, with almost 6,000 visits in 2000/2001. Opportunities for new clinics are regularly being explored.

DIALYSIS

SMH has a six-station satellite dialysis unit with more than 20 patients. There were 3,819 visits for the year 2005/06.

A dedicated team of health care professionals and high technology equipment make it a very progressive unit. It is generously supported by the community (through the Nottawasaga Foundation).

It is linked by computer to the regional dialysis center at Soldiers' Memorial Hospital in Orillia.

MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

Local services operate from the Mary McGill Community Mental Health Centre on site. Founded in 1980, the Centre is sponsored by Stevenson Memorial Hospital and funded by the Ministry of Health. Services include individual and group counselling, as well as psychiatric consultation and treatment for adults with mental health issues or serious mental illness. The Community Mental Health Centre also participates in a regional crisis intervention program with the Ontario Provincial Police.

The centre receives approximately 500 referrals each year. Two psychiatrists maintain courtesy privileges at the hospital.
